October 2019 – Figaro’s Notes
Great Start to a New School Year!
We’ve had an awesome start to the school year at Figaro Music Studios. It was great to see the kids we hadn’t seen all summer, and it’s always a great feeling to get back into the swing of things. The kids are already working hard!
Performance at the Concord Arts Market
At the end of August several students performed for shoppers at the Concord Arts Market in Bicentennial Square, and I think it was my favorite thing we’ve ever done! It was a gorgeous day, everyone had a great time, and the music was absolutely beautiful. I could hardly believe the performers were nine to fifteen-year-old kids — they sounded like seasoned musicians! Click below to view a couple of highlights from the event.

Life is super busy — we get that! If your child is ever sick or they have a sports game scheduled at the same time as their lesson, you can reschedule rather than cancel. Just save this link to use whenever you need it!

I’ve made recordings of every song in the piano books we teach out of. This is a great resource you can use at home if your child is stuck on their song or wants to know what it should sound like!
Our Star Student This Month!
Finlay did something I’ve never seen done before. He passed the entire Level 2B in just one week. That’s INSANE! Finlay is now an intermediate pianist and he’s only 8 years old. We’re so proud of his progress and hard work. Way to go, Finlay!!!
Save the Date: Christmas Recitals
The Christmas recitals will be on December 10th, 13th, and 14th this year. There will be no regular lessons during recital week. I’ve decided to keep recitals small and cozy this year. Each recital will have 10-15 performers and last about 30 minutes, and there will be at least 7 recital times to choose from. They will take place at our studio. I hope this makes it really easy for you to participate!
We’ll send out the sign-up form next week. Talk to your friends and find out which recital they’ll be signing up for so we can make sure you get to attend with all of your favorite people. 🙂 There will be a reception after each recital where you can bring your favorite Christmas treat to share! More details to come.
