What a Month!
Austin’s first online lesson with Mrs. Lee. He was so excited!
While it seems like it’s been a year since everything shut down, it’s only been a few weeks, and we still have many more to go!
The transition to online lessons has gone so well. Thank you all for your patience and making everything so easy. You guys are AWESOME!!!
I’ve been amazed at what good spirits the kids are in. Even though they’re cooped up and probably going kind of crazy inside (and maybe driving you crazy as well), they’re continuing to smile and remind us grown ups that everything will be okay!
We’ve also been impressed with how much the kids have been practicing now that they have extra time. I think we’ll see kids make a lot of progress in the month ahead!
While schools are set to be back in session by May 4th, I don’t think we can know if that will actually be the case. So if it’s still unsafe to gather in groups by the time recital week is here (first week of June), we will do a virtual show instead! Students can still prepare their pieces, send a video of their performance to us, and then we’ll do live streams of their performances on Facebook. That way, relatives who live far away can watch too!
I think it’s important for kids to still have a goal to work toward, so we’ll be sending out the recital sign-up forms again this coming week. If things are too crazy right now to choose a particular date/time, still sign up if you’d like to participate, that way we can start helping your child choose a recital piece to work on. We’ll just pin down a date for you later on! 🙂
Cheers!
Amy
P.S. Tell your friends! There’s plenty of room for beginners to start lessons. And there are a lot of kids who currently don’t have a music teacher because of the closure, and may need a teacher for just a few weeks. Many of you have been spreading the word already, we really appreciate it! 😀
P.P.S. We love seeing pictures/videos of your kids taking online lessons. If you have one you want to share, just text or email it to me!
