Book Blast Piano Camp

Are you looking for a fun, wholesome activity to keep your child’s brain active this summer, but you don’t want to send him or her to an all-day camp every week?

What is Book Blast Piano Camp?

Book Blast meets four days in a row, from Monday through Thursday, two hours each day. We offer a morning camp that meets 9:30AM-11:30AM, and an evening camp that meets 4:30PM-6:30PM.

Each camp is limited to five participants to ensure each child is receiving plenty of personal instruction.

The focus of the Book Blast Piano Camp is to “blast” them through a good portion of their book by learning and passing a lot of material in the four days.

In addition to working through their book, we play a variety of games, such as Music Hangman, or learn about famous composers. Often students enjoy writing their own music at the camp.

Why Book Blast?

Students feel a great sense of accomplishment when they’re able to increase their skills so much, in such a short amount of time. We’ve found that two hours per day is just the right amount of time to allow us to dive in deep and make a lot of progress, play games and still be excited to come back the next day.

If your child is new to piano and you want to see if it’s something they’ll like, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Since students are here four days in a row, there’s no need for them to have a piano at home to practice on. That means you can give piano a try without investing in an instrument.

Book Blast Piano Camp is open to current FMS students who are in Piano Adventures, from the Primer book up to Level 4.

New Students:

We gladly welcome brand new beginners to the Book Blast Piano Camp. A parent will need to have a phone conversation with Amy to ensure that the program will be a good fit for your child. It may be preferable for you to bring your child in for a free introductory piano lesson so they’re ready for the camp. Feel free to get in touch with Amy for more information!
